Girls Junior Varsity Basketball vs. Trinity Christian School, VA

It was a great game against Trinity Christian. Our Lady Wolves won with a score of 27-25. We had a very strong start to the game with 11 points in the first quarter. We finished the first half with a 6 point lead. Maggie Dake got the last 3 points of the game helping us win with a very close score of 27-25. Our Lady Wolves continued to hustle the entire game and never gave up fighting. Our leading scorers today were Julia Foster with 16 points and Maggie Dake with 5 points. - Nabayit Daniel

It was a great game against Trinity Christian. Our Lady Wolves won with a score of 27-25. We had a very strong start to the game with 11 points in the first quarter. Lose: 18 - 43
We lost to The Seton School with a score of 18-43. Even with this upsetting loss, we still managed to get a few memorable moments.   From Rachel Young to shooting a 3 pointer in the second quarter, to Brielle Appiatse stealing the ball and passing it up to Julia Foster a lay-up. Both Maggie Dake and Brielle Appiatse lead the team with 5 points each, following by Rachel Young with 3 points. - Mariel Pinho

Lose: 22 - 25
It was a very competitive game to Seton School. Unfortunately, we lost with a score of 25-22. Even though we had a rough start to the game, with the ending score of the first quarter being 7-2, our Lady Wolves made a great comeback in the second quarter. Reese Almelor made a 3 point shot and overall we scored 8 points in the second quarter, finishing the first half with a score of 10-8. We continued to excel in the second half and had a very close fourth quarter. Brielle Appiatse gave Angie Morales a great pass which resulted in Angie making a 2-point layup. It was a great game but unfortunately there wasn’t enough time in the game to comeback and take the win. Seton School came back with 8 points in the fourth quarter and won the game with a score of 25-22. Reese Almelor, who made two 3-point shots this game, led the team with 8 points and Julia Foster followed closely behind with 5 points. - Nabayit Daniel
Girls Junior Varsity Basketball vs. Academy of the Holy Cross

Win: 42 - 41
JV won against the Academy of the Holy Cross with a  close score of 42-41. In this game, the JV team showed improvement in their passes and communication. The first half ended with the other team ahead with 1 point, 15-16. But as the 3rd quarter begins, we start to get more points in with great passes, ending the quarter with a tie. It was a difficult game, but with our improved skills we were able to win. Angie Morales with a high amount of 18 points, following Brielle Appiatse with 7 points, and Maggie Dake with 6 points. - Mariel Pinho

Win: 31 - 20
t was a competitive game against Oakcrest School today. Our Lady Wolves played hard and won with a score of 31-20. It was a very close game and at the end of the first half it was a score of 18-11. We continued to play tough in the 3rd quarter and everything into the last quarter, making a total of 13 points in the second half. Oakcrest School followed closely behind with a total of 9 points in the second half. Therefore, the final score was 31-20. Brielle Appiatse led the team with a total of 12 points. Angie Morales followed with 7 points and Maggie Dake with 5 points. It was a tough game and our Lady Wolves did their best to play well and were determined to succeed & win this game.  - Nabayit Daniel

Lose: 19 - 44
The JV team lost with a score of 19-44 against St. Anne’s-Belfield School. We had a hard time in the first half , but as the second half began, we started to make a comeback. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for us to win the game, but everyone fought hard until the last second. Maggie Dake and and Brielle Appiatse lead the team with 6 points each, following Julia Foster with 4 points. - Mariel Pinho

Win: 39 - 37
It was a very exciting game against Trinity Christian today. It was a close game but our Lady Wolves prevailed with a score of 39-37 in overtime. We started the first quarter off strong with an ending score of 13-4. Throughout the game, though, Trinity Christian slowly caught up and the fourth quarter ended with a tie of 37-37.  We went into overtime where Brielle Appiatse won the game with a 2-point layup, making our final score 39-37. Overall it was a very competitive game and both teams fought hard for the win. One of our captains, Angie Morales, led our Lady Wolves with 17 points. Maggie Dake closely followed with 10 points. - Nabayit Daniel

Lose: 16 - 53
Our JV Team lost with a score of 53-16 against The Catholic School. Throughout most of the game, JV had a hard time scoring. In the 3rd quarter, we were able to find the basket and score more but in the 4th quarter we lost our rhythm. We hope to recognize the mistakes we made so we can make better decisions in the upcoming games. Angie Morales lead our team with 11 points, followed by Maggie Dake and Reese Almelor with 2 points each. - Mariel Pinho

It was a great game to Episcopal High School. We won with a score of 37-21. Our Lady Wolves had a strong start to the game and finished the first half with a 12 point lead. We continued the scoring in the second half and finished the game with a 16 point lead. Angie Morales led with 14 points and Julia Foster followed with 6 points.

Even though our Jv Team lost with a score of 20-36, they improved a lot from the last time they played St. Catherine’s. They did good in the first quarter, but slowly started to lose focus as the game went on. We know we had a tough lost, and we are ready to come back stronger for the next game. It was a rough loss to Elizabeth Ann Seton High School today. We lost with a score of 37-15. Even though our Lady Wolves lost today Coach Moe and our team recognized that we’ve had an immense improvement from the beginning of the season. Our JV team as individuals, as well as as a team, have learned a lot this season and look forward to future games. Maggie Dake led the team with 5 points and Brielle Appiatse following with 4 points. - Nabayit Daniel

The jv team had a tough loss with a score of 24-11 . The opponents gave our jv team a challenging game, but we still put up a good fight to win. We acknowledged the mistakes we made during this game and plan to use these points to improve for the next game. Maggie Dake lead our team with 5 points, Reese Almelor and Libby Migratti with 2 points each, and finally Julia Foster and Brielle Appiatse with 1 point each. - Mariel Pinho

It was a close game to St. Gertrude’s High School. Our JV team lost with a score of 49-30.   It was a good game and our JV team had a rough start but were slowly starting to catch up after halftime. Our Lady Wolves tried their best but couldn't get the win. Angie Morales led with 9 points and Azel Tayamen followed closely with 7 points. - Nabayit Daniel

It was a tough loss to Saint Catherine’s School. Our JV team lost with a score of 41-10.  It was a hard game but we learned a lot and look forward to improving in future games. Angie Morales led the team with 5 points.  Julia Foster & Brielle Appiatse followed with 2 points each.  Next game is at St. Gertrude's on 1/9/23.
